In a letter to John Adams, Thomas Jefferson wrote, "I cannot live without books," and we understand how he felt. Books have been our best friends ever since we can remember and we're going to celebrate our love for them with this 'reading challenge.' The aim is to tick one book off every month!

Although our lives have taken us in different directions, this challenge, and this blog, is also a way for us to celebrate our friendship as well as our love of reading.

This blog is really just for fun and each entry will explain how the 'book of the month' fits into the category, why we made our choices, and include some comments/thoughts on each book.

Let the challenge commence!!

Challenge 4: A Book Your Friend Loves

Ida's book: "The Tent, the Bucket, and me" by Emma Kennedy (Ebury Press, 2009)

This was a fairly easy challenge. This autumn I watched a show on BBC called "The Kennedy's" with my friends and they recommended me the book it was based on. I absolutely loved the TV show, cried with laughter sometimes so the book has been ready on my shelf for a few months, waiting for the fourth challenge. Its time has now come and I can't wait to read this book!

Comments:

I absolutely loved this book! It's hard to believe all this misfortune happened to one single family, but from Emma Kennedy's reading it somehow just fits together. You really come to love this family, Brenda's hysterical nature and longing for a proper holiday, Tony's hatred for France and love of good old England, and Emma's countless accidents, somehow involving body fluids every single year. I can't recommend this book enough, it truly is laugh-out-loud funny!
